Sodexo Qingdao won the title of "Model Entity of Food Safety"

On the 14th of March, 2007, the Food Safety Committee of the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Qingdao hosted the Award-Giving Conference for those Prized Enterprises. 84 enterprises in the fields of food production, distribution, and sales won the title of "Model Entities of Food Safety". Sodexo Qingdao is one of them.

Model Entity of Food Safety

In 2006, the Administration Committee (the local government) of Development Zone of Qingdao decided to launch the campaign of discovering and rewarding Model Entities of Food Safety within the Zone, in order to fully implement State Council’s Decision on Further Strengthening Work on Food Safety, so as to constantly enhance the food safety level of the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Qingdao and to ensure food safety for customers.

The Food Safety Committee of the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Qingdao is a branch agency of the Bureau of Food and Drug Administration there. The process of discovering and rewarding “Model Entities” includes 3 steps: first, the Bureau of Quality Supervision, the Bureau of Industry and Commerce Administration, and the Bureau of Health recommended excellent enterprises in the fields of food production, distribution and sales; second, the Food Safety Committee imposed two selective checks upon those recommended enterprises at the middle and end of the year; third, strict evaluation was launched on those involved enterprises combined with consumer opinion surveys and experts’ evaluations. And finally, 84 enterprises in the fields of food production, distribution, and sales won the title of “Model Entities of Food Safety”. Sodexo Qingdao is one of them.

It is not out of luck that Sodexo Qingdao got such a title. Over many years, we have been taken food safety as the predominant priority. We highlight the importance of food safety at everyday regular meetings, actively organize expertise-enhancing drills and various trainings, and make the concept of hygiene-related epidemic prevention and food safety deeply seated in employees’ hearts while lifting their job expertise levels. Hard work of many years finally gets paid off now. Our work on hygiene has not only been recognized by our clients, but also been appreciated by the local government.
