Sodexo Greater China attended the First Global Outsourcing Summit

On December 11th of 2007, the First ever Global Outsourcing Summit was ceremoniously open in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone. This high-level summit was co-hosted by Tianjin Municipal Government and Asia-Pacific CEO Association (APCEO) and International Outsourcing Center (IOC). It attracted over 500 delegates to come, including relevant leaderships from Ministry of Commerce of PRC, Ministry of Information Industry of PRC, Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, Tianjin CPC Committee and Tianjin Municipal Government, Former Australian Prime Minister Mr. Bob Hawke, and representatives from Fortune 500 companies relevant International Economic Institutions.

Global Outsourcing Summit

As a global leader in Food services and Facilities Management services, Sodexo was also invited to this international pageant. On the evening of December 10th, Mr. Christophe SOLAS, CEO of Sodexo Greater China, was warmly received as VIP guest by Mr. Dai Xianglong, Mayor of Tianjin city.

On the morning of December 11th, after the speeches of Mr. Dai Xianglong, Mr. Bob Hawke, former Australian Prime Minister and Mr. Chong Quan, Assistant to Commerce Minister of China, International Outsourcing Center (IOC) made republic “2007 IOC Outsourcing Top 30”. Among the 30 selected companies, Sodexo ranked the 4th, right after Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, and HSBC. And later, Mr. SOLAS made the themed speech titled as “Potentials, drivers and challenges of outsourcing food and facilities management services in China”. By his speech, the audiences came to realize that, business outsourcing not only involves IT, Finance, Manufacturing, but also includes the outsourcing of logistic services which boasts of great potentials. By outsourcing Logistic services, enterprises entrust their logistics functions to professional companies, which provide logistic services to the client enterprises. Logistic services outsourcing allows the client enterprises not only to enjoy more professional and higher-quality support services, but also to reduce the low-efficient assets operation, enhance management efficiency and thus uplift their competence.
