Sodexo Greater China supplies Transorientale 2008

On June 12th 2008, Transorientale 2008 officially commenced in the close attention of the whole world. In the whole event which lasted 17 days, nearly 800 contestants and support personnel from 25 countries with almost 300 vehicles competed fiercely in a wild landscape of 10,000 kilometers from Russia, Kazakstan to China.
As the supporting services supplier for this event, Sodexo contributed to making this Rally more wonderful!
Remote Sites Department of Sodexo Greater China managed the logistics services for this event, responsible for preparing foods and drinks for all contestants and supply personnel of the whole fleet when they are in China. Two 40 GP trucks were utilized to transport food supplies. One truck was full of frozen foods. A Regional Director was sent a long way to Turfan and Karamay, in order to ensure the successful delivery of these foods. The whole fleet arrived in Turfan on June 22nd, which was also a day of break. Under the coordination and monitoring of Sodexo team there, a sumptuous dinner was served to the fleet (over 800 people). It created a wonderful joyous moment for the fleet personnel who had been struggling against harsh natural landscapes for days and felt much exhausted.
The Award Ceremony of Transorientale 2008 and the following banquet were held at Huang Ya Pass of Great Wall on June 28th. Sodexo International Education Department supplied a cocktail lounge to 800 fleet personnel and invited government officials and other honorable guests for Transorientale 2008. Sodexo was also responsible for purchasing food materials, cooking foods and serving the banquet after the Award Ceremony. There were over 1,000 guests who surrounded our Barbecue Bar, Salad Bar and Fried Foods Bar to taste delicious foods. Varieties of salads, kabobs, Guangdong fried rice, fried noodles, and snacks were well received by the guests from different nationalities. With happy cheers and extraordinary foods, Transorientale 2008 ended with great success.
