As one key part of the Celebration Ceremony for the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of China Cuisine Association, the Forum for Building A Saving Society and Developing the Catering Business, jointly hosted by China Cuisine Association(CCA) and the Experts’ Work Committee of CCA, began on April 21st, 2007, in the Meeting Hall of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC). This forum got high-level attention from the government leadership at various levels and the positive support from relevant government organs. Ms. Zhang Meiying, Vice Chairperson of CPPCC, attended the forum and gave important instructions. Many senior government officials went to the forum and made important speeches. They include Feng Zhijun, Deputy Director of the Environmental Resources Committee under the National People’s Congress(NPC); Jiang Zengwei, Vice Commerce Minister; Chen Xiaohong, Vice Health Minister; Liu Yanhua, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Zhou Changyi, Deputy Head of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environment Protection of National Development and Reform Commission. Since its entry into China market in 1995, Sodexo has set up Sodexo Management Academy (SMA) to provide professional trainings to managers of our operation sites, with one important training course being about the reduction of energy consumption. We inform our employees the importance of reducing energy consumption. We have specially made some plans to save energy resources and kept some energy-using records to assess the progress in the field of energy conservation. Sodexo Greater China own a specialized team, composed of by chefs, nutrition experts, and professional purchasing personnel and purchasing systems. Therefore, we are able to supply different client groups including employees of client companies, kids at schools and patients in hospitals with tailor-made menus featured by appropriate seasonings, balanced nutrition, and wonderful tastes. These menus respectively oriented to different characteristics of every operation site can effectively reduce the waste of raw materials and the thrown dishes. Meanwhile, Sodexo’s design team will provide smart designs based on the space characteristics of dining halls to promote the reasonable arrangements of the construction funds and facilities for dining halls. Besides, our professional teams are also specialized in maintaining the kitchen equipments of Sodexo’s operation sites to make those equipments function long and well, thus enhancing the resource-using efficiency and avoiding unnecessary inputs of money.
