Eat foods that are cool and light
Fruits like strawberries, apples, pears and plums are great snacks that will help keep you refreshed and hydrated.

    Let’s get minty
Add a burst of cool flavor to your favorite beverages, or summer salads, by adding peppermint leaves.

    Hydrate with food too
Fruits and vegetables are great sources of fluid too, drinking water isn’t the only way to stay hydrated this summer.

    Make your own snacks!
Frozen grapes or blueberries are a fantastic summertime treat. These fruits are full of nutrients and will beat the heat when enjoyed icy.

    Flavor Your Water
You can flavor your water with strawberries, cucumbers, lemons, or mint if you're tired of plain water. You can bring an infuser water bottle so that you can carry flavored water with you wherever you go.

Prep Time Cook Time Total Time Serving Calories
    15min 30min 45min 10-12 53kcal

    Ingredients

    • Self-raising flour---50g
    • Wholegrain flour---50g
    • Small egg, separated---2pcs
    • Skimmed milk---150ml
    • berries and low-fat yogurt to serve

    Steps

    1. Sift the flour into a bowl or wide jug and tip any bits in the sieve back into the bowl.
    2. Add the egg yolks and a splash of milk then stir to a thick paste. Add the remaining milk a little at a time so you don’t make lumps in the batter.
    3. Whisk the egg whites until they stand up in stiff peaks, then fold them carefully into the batter – try not to squash out all the air.
    4. Heat a non-stick pan over a medium heat and pour in enough batter to make a pancake about 10 cm across. Cook for just under a minute until bubbles begin to pop on the surface and the edges look a little dry.
    5. Carefully turn the pancake over. If it is a bit wet on top, it may squirt out a little batter as you do so. In that case, leave it on the other side a little longer. Keep warm while you make the remaining pancakes.
    6. Serve with your favourite healthy toppings.
