Shanghai, September 18, 2017 - Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services, has been named among the 50 companies that “Change the World” by FORTUNE, thanks to the impact on Human Rights and Social Justice of the initiatives and policies for people with disabilities.
As the authoritative and influential selection in the industry, the list is designed to recognize companies that have positive social impact in their core business strategies.
Sodexo, the member of Fortune Global 500, was recognized by Fortune as bringing the physically challenged into the workforce. “with 425,000 workers, Sodexo is a leader in hiring physically challenged people—an underrepresented group often overlooked by employers—and has pledged to make programs for disabled people accessible to 100% of its workforce by 2025. Sodexo also helps farmers with disabilities or health conditions modify their equipment to address mobility challenges.”
As a member of the ILO (International Labour Organization) Global Business & Disability Network, Sodexo's disability initiatives reach 86% of its workforce in 25 countries today with 30 ambassadors of the Disability Voice taskforce support countries with their local initiatives.
In China, Sodexo works with local Disabled Persons' Federation, and now has over 80 disabled employees making their contributions at 50 sites. Meanwhile, Sodexo China has been cooperating with related NGO to provide career trainings for the disabled, adhering persistently to the mission of improving Quality of Life.
