January 13, 2025, Shanghai — Recently, "Responsibility 100 | 2024 8th CSR China Education Award" were released.
Sodexo China has won the "CSR CHINA TOP100 Rank" award for the third consecutive year. Additionally, "Stop Hunger" project also won the "SDGs Special Award" and was included in the "Compilation of Excellent Cases". This honor is a recognition for Sodexo's long-term commitment to promoting corporate sustainability and fulfilling social responsibility.
In 1996, Sodexo established Stop Hunger, an international non-profit organization, aiming to work for a world without hunger through sustainable actions by leveraging the unique ecosystem of Sodexo. To date, Sodexo has partnered with more than 330 organizations across 73 countries, with a special focus on the well-being of women, youth, and children. Through these efforts, the organization is working to build a healthy and hunger-free future for these communities.
In May 2024, ahead of the International Children's Day, and under the guidance of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Sodexo China launched the "Servathon to Care More" event in Shanghai in collaboration with the Xuhui District Business Committee and the Shanghai Health Charity Center. The event took place at the picturesque Xuhui Binjiang area in Shanghai, where participants enjoyed outdoor cycling and running activities while also contributing their love and energy to a good cause.
A total of 117 volunteers, including Sodexo employees, customers, and partners, dedicated 1,900 hours of volunteer time. Over 40 customers, suppliers, and Sodexo representatives joined in the fundraising effort. The funds raised will be donated to the Beijing AiEr Foundation through the China Food Banking to support the "Public Welfare Action to Eliminate Infectious Diseases". This initiative, jointly launched by the National Medical Center for Infectious Diseases (Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University) and the AiEr Foundation, focuses on providing food, nutrition, and care packages for local drug-resistant tuberculosis patients in Guizhou, Yunnan and other regions. This event not only marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France but also highlights Sodexo's commitment to social responsibility and its contribution to public health.
Over the years, Sodexo has been committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities and making positive contributions to the economic, social, and environmental development of the regions where it operates. In recent years, Sodexo has successfully donated and built more than 60 modern "Hope Kitchens" and 8 "Hope Gardens” across China. These initiatives have effectively addressed food supply challenges in rural schools in underprivileged areas, benefiting over 30,000 children in rural primary schools. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2023, Sodexo China and the China Food Banking jointly organized the highly anticipated "Sodexo Food Package" event. More than 2 tons of daily necessities were delivered to families in need through its own supply chain, providing much-needed support to Shanghai. In addition, Sodexo partnered with the Shanghai United Foundation to launch the "Food Package" charity fundraising project, bringing together social forces to help even more people.
Looking ahead, Sodexo will continue to advocate for and practice its social responsibilities. Staying true to its commitment to "in China, for China", Sodexo will work with more partners to promote and support the sustainable development of communities.
