China nowadays is a rapidly aging society, thus in January 2024, the State Council issued China's first policy document named after the "silver economy", the "Opinions on Developing the Silver Economy and Improving the Well-being of the Elderly", which mainly focuses on the supply of products and services for the elderly concerning clothing, food, housing, transportation, culture, education, entertainment, medical care and health care. Among various silver economy industries, the provision of meals is related to the basic needs of each senior citizen, and the food safety issue should be given top priority.

With "Innovation of Digital Management of Food Safety under the Trend of Silver Economy” as the major theme, this forum extensively explored the topic of food safety guarantee systems in senior services, introducing digitalization approaches to promote food safety management to a new height of internationalization, specialization and standardization.

Ms. Leisa SHEN, Segment Director of Sodexo China HEA Department, delivered a keynote speech entitled " Exceptional Service to support extraordinary senior living in China" at the forum. The guests at the forum conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the innovation of food safety digital management, shared their best practices and innovative achievements in food safety digital management, and discussed how to use artificial intelligence, big data, block chain and other technologies to improve the level of food safety and provide better elderly care services for the senior citizens. The guests at the forum unanimously agreed that the continuous innovation of food safety digital management is key to improving the quality of elderly care services, and it also serves as an important guarantee to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the silver economy. In the future, all parties will continue to strengthen cooperation and jointly promote food safety management to new heights.
