Beijing, September 15, 2021 – Sodexo, the world leader in Quality of Life Services, joined the 2021 Business Leaders Summit Forum of BMR: Value Drives Growth & 5th Summit Forum for China's Most Valuable Enterprises and garnered the "Outstanding CSR Value Award", which demonstrated its contributions to the sustainable development of the catering and facilities management sectors.

Launched by the Business Management Review (BMR) journal and well-known business school professors, the 5th Summit Forum for China's Most Valuable Enterprises aims to evaluate and spur the development of more value-led companies. Beyond this, it seeks to prompt companies to move toward the future through symbiosis, collaboration and digitalization with a focus on: value, growth, and goodness.

Value-led companies are able to adapt to the evolving environment, lead the changes and create value. In this evolving era, a company should shoulder its due corporate social responsibilities (CSR) and act in a socially responsible way, thus enabling itself to adapt to changes and gain flexibility. Also, it should develop a robust organizational climate that contributes to better team performance, so that it can create greater value in the midst of uncertainties nowadays.

At the forum, Jane Yan, Vice President & HR Director of Sodexo Greater China, delivered a keynote speech – Make Companies Stand Out: Internal Value Proposition & External Value Manifestation, during which she elaborated on how quality of life services could increase corporate value:

Life quality is a theme running through everyone's life: Life quality has a growing significance in an organization, and new-generation employees will become the key driver of life quality improvement in the future. The workplace has long gone beyond physical space such as an office desk. Organizations need to gain new insights into employee needs and provide resources, experiences and services that workers need for various scenarios.

People-focused is an integral part of Sodexo's values and principles. WX, Sodexo's wholly-owned subsidiary, helps companies optimize workplace experience using ethnology, Internet of Things and data science and provides consulting services and technology solutions aimed at creating a well-functioning and sustainable work environment.

Companies are increasingly expected to develop sustainably and diversify: Firms create not only commercial value but also social value powered by their sustainable development and diverse culture. Value drives growth. In this age of rapid changes, companies are expected to create value both internally and externally.

Diversity and inclusion are the cornerstones of Sodexo's growth strategy. As the world leader in Quality of Life Services, Sodexo is dedicated to developing an open and inclusive culture that enables every employee to achieve self-realization.

CSR is rooted in Sodexo's core business philosophy: Since the founding of Sodexo in 1966, CSR has taken root in its core belief of business development. As its business grows, Sodexo has gained a deeper understanding of and set clearer goals for sustainable development.

In July 2017, Sodexo unveiled its "Better Tomorrow 2025" roadmap, a fresh step to meet its CSR, taken in response to an evolving world. The roadmap encompasses nine clear commitments covering all aspects of the company's Quality of Life Services.

Jane Jian said, "Sodexo has been a pioneer in fulfilling CSR and promoting diversification. The "Outstanding CSR Value Award" will motivate us to work harder on our CSR commitments. We will continue to enhance the quality of life for our employees and those we serve and foster their creativity and competitiveness by providing a safer, healthier and more sustainable workplace."
