Sodexo opens its new warehouse in East China to drive sustainable, green and smart logistics

Shanghai, January 16, 2023 - Sodexo, the global leader in quality life services, announced the successful landing ceremony of its new energy vehicles (NEVs) and the opening ceremony of its new warehouses in the East China logistics market.

Grace Han, Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs of Sodexo Greater China, Franny Fan, Director of Supply Chain Management of Sodexo Greater China, Shirley Shen, Director of Brand and Communications of Sodexo Greater China and Ling Song, General Manager of Shanghai Jiaorong Cold-chain logistics Co., Ltd. attended the opening ceremony. The new warehouse and NEVs further upgraded Sodexo's service in smart logistics, and promoted the development of a digital logistics system. Such endeavors will be helpful to achieve the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal by saving more energy and reducing emissions, providing a solid foundation for Sodexo to build a new green logistics benchmark in the industry and to efficiently serve diversified market demands.

The new Sodexo East China logistics warehouse is located in Songjiang District, Shanghai, covering an area of about 11,000 square meters, and will work together with Sodexo's national logistics center to build an optimized solution for Sodexo's digital and visualized intelligent logistics, create a new model of trunking network + cloud warehouse, so as to promote Sodexo's sustainable logistics development.

Create a logistics visualization system to optimize business processes

Sodexo will visualize business processes, data and decisions, thus optimizing business processes and improving overall control capabilities.

• Order/Document Visualization The goal is to achieve real-time monitoring, analysis, counting and tracing of Sodexo's order execution status (such as order forecast, order confirmation, shipment, and receipt) and electronic transmission of inspection and quarantine documents.
• Transport Visualization We can collect information on people, vehicles and commodities in the transportation process with GPS and other devices, and keep abreast of the transportation trajectory, driver status and commodity temperature, thus realizing Sodexo's full monitoring of food safety.

The new model of trunking network + cloud warehouse to enhance the efficiency of integrated supply chain

The cloud warehouse is used as a base for product storage and delivery, and the layout of the multi-level warehouse network will improve the warehouse management system and logistics capabilities. Sodexo's logistics team has created a new model of trunking network + cloud warehouse based on business features and its own characteristics. This service model breaks the original regional DC distribution restrictions and expands the business coverage from coastal areas to inland regions. Services will sink from first- and second-tier cities to third- and fourth-tier cities, especially for small, remote branches, which may enjoy the same logistics service as convenient as other branches.

Develop green logistics to promote Sodexo's sustainable development

Green logistics is an important part of promoting green and low-carbon development.
