It recruited Sodexo volunteers through its non-profit organization Stop Hunger to distribute free "Love Shanghai" gift packages to 300 disadvantaged families selected by 15 non-profit organizations in the Shanghai area. The gift packages contained food and daily necessities.

In 1996, Sodexo established Stop Hunger, an international non-profit organization, aiming to leverage Sodexo's unique ecological system to contribute to a world without hunger through sustainable actions. The organization has made contributions to hunger reduction in multiple regions and countries across the world.

41,000 Sodexo volunteers from 54 countries globally participate in the charity activities of Stop Hunger, providing about 8.5 million meals during the global Covid-19 pandemic, and raising 8 million US dollars in 2021. Over the past six years, as many as 52 million people globally have benefited from Stop Hunger.

In the past 20 years, Sodexo has been committed to eradicating hunger and malnutrition by means of the Stop Hunger programs. In the charity event of "Love Shanghai" gift package distribution, Sodexo's volunteers organized and packed food, and distributed the food packages through Oasis Food Bank to 300 poor families selected by 15 non-profit organizations.

Oasis Food Bank was founded to reduce the waste caused by over production. Waste and hunger co-exist: on the one hand, due to material abundance, there is a lot of waste in society; and on the other hand, because of various social problems and unfair distribution, there are still some people who do not have enough clothing and food. Oasis Food Bank was founded against such a backdrop, which collects food that would soon be wasted and distributes it to underprivileged groups for free.

Similarly, according to Sodexo's business philosophy, food should be eaten instead of being wasted. In 2020, Sodexo cooperated with the public welfare organization for the first time to distribute 100 food packages to poor families in the mountainous areas in Yunnan province. In 2021, Sodexo worked with Oasis Food Bank to participate in a public welfare walk "An Egg's Rampage", in which volunteers completed 8 kilometers of walk in the hot weather of Guangzhou, raising funds for children in trouble due to lack of or improper family supervision, and helping them to solve problems relating to food and malnutrition.

Since its establishment in 1966, Sodexo has always adhered to its commitment to the society and environment, and formulated the corporate responsibility roadmap of "A Better Tomorrow 2025" in 2009, making 9 major commitments in the three impact areas, namely the individual, society and environment, from the perspective of three key corporate roles. Eradicating hunger and malnutrition is a key focus of Sodexo's corporate responsibility commitment. Moving forward, Sodexo will work with more public welfare organizations, and call for more people to implement the commitment of "A Better Tomorrow 2025" together with Sodexo.
