Sodexo was awarded as China’s Top 10 Brands of Group Meal at the 9th China Catering Industry Development Conference and was the seventh time included as one of the Top 100 Catering Enterprises in China.

Bring world-leading food safety system to China

"Based on years of Euramerican practices, we adopt a management mode with purchase and logistics separated to ensure compliance and standardization." Christophe Solas explained. Sodexo’s supply chain management in China is well established with 7 distribution centers, covering over 50 cities and distributing more than 3,000 tons of all types of products each month to 600 sites. Each part of the supply chain, from selection, training and certification of vendors to logistics and warehousing management, quality management and after-sales services, is managed and supervised by specific staff. The system is also complemented by advanced management information system to achieve a truly paperless, real-time information exchange model. As a group meal service provider, Sodexo was awarded several times as “Top 50 Companies in Food Logistics” by Logistics Appraisal Committee of China Food Industry Association and was included as the National Standard Pilot Enterprise for “Food Cold Chain Logistics Tracking” released by China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CLFP) Cold Chain Logistics Committee in 2014.

When the fresh food materials are delivered to site, standard operation processes are the key to ensure the food safety. Sodexo is one of the few food service providers in the industry that has independent Health Safety Environment Department which is responsible for developing, training and inspection of health safety standards of all the sites. In 2014, Sodexo China introduced SALUS Incident Reporting System to share experience of food safety and work health around the world.

Provide Quality of Life services for Chinese consumers

In 1995, Sodexo’s business in China started with a catering service contract for a US school in Shanghai. Today, Sodexo has expanded its footprints to such segments as corporate, government, healthcare, seniors, schools and universities, and services scope of integrated facilities management as catering, cleaning, security, building operation & maintenance and lab services. In 2008, Sodexo pioneered corporate wellness in China by managing enterprise internal fitness center and providing healthy lifestyle management services for clients’ employees. Christophe Solas said: "Workplace health condition, occupational diseases and chronic diseases have become social problems now. Enterprises have to pay for its employees’ personal health condition after all. The best way to crash such problems is to change the way we live." In 2012, Sodexo developed nutritious meal solution for in-patients to help along their recovery. The solution turned doctors' dietary advices into in-patients' daily meals and achieved a seamless transition from doctor prescription, clinical dietitian’s menu design, in-patient ordering to food preparation & delivery by virtue of information system. Mr. Jiang Junxian, Director of China Cuisine Association valued Sodexo with such a comment that “Explorer of Nutritious Meals, Inspirer of Healthy Diet” during 20th Anniversary of Sodexo China.
